Okay, now I understand. That part is usually referred to as the "wishbone." I 
would think that it would be much easier and stronger to add the diagonal arm 
pivots to a swing axle rear subframe. Those pivots were available from some 
sources as add-ons at one time. I don't know if you can still find them, but 
I'll bet you can.

My main concern would be with the structural integrity of the rear subframe. I 
think it would be quite hard to weld on a wishbone and have it remain as strong 
as the one piece original wishbone subframe. It's not that I doubt your welding 
skills, it's more that the welding heats and anneals both pieces with 
consequences that we can not predict.

I'll look to see if I have the pressure regulator. OTOH, the type 3 regulator 
is the same internally; it's only the mounting bracket that's different. And I 
believe the type 3 and 4 FI pumps are also the same.
