Today I discovered that the little fuel line splitter on the top of my engine is infact a Crud injector! My whole fuel system got contaminated with crap and I have to go through and blow out all the carb passages again and clean out the fuel pump too.. Frusterating! Got a new 6V battery and finally got it all cleaned out and running, set the timing and rough carb adjustments but it seems like the car isnt idling on the left carb, it will run on it but idle is a bit rough. I tried the volume adjustment and it doesnt have much of an effect on the left side as it does on the right. I may have carboned up the 3 and 4 plugs though when the float stuck and flooded that side. Ive only driven it 2 miles as it has no plates but im thinking I should probably hold off on the syncing adjustments and such till its on the road and driven a bit. This may be a couple years but Im going to try to get it to the storage tent tommoro, about 3 miles... wish me luck but it seems to be running better as it gets run more. Nice having it move under its own power for the first time in 15 years, but BOY, dont use 87 octane in a domie motor... It will detonate if you step on it. next year Ill treat it to the good stuff when I have a real gas tank in it and not something that came off a snowblower ;-) Keith Keith Park Top Notch Restorations topnotch@nycap.rr.com 71 Squareback 65 Notchback "El BajaRojo" 65 Squareback "Eggcrate" 87 Golf 93 Rx7 fast enough to stay Stock! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
