In cruising (and cornering, and stopping, and accelerating) it becomes a 
performance issue, in that if it doesn't perform as well as the stock 
system, it's a detriment. If it requires more maintenance or unusual 
parts, it's a detriment.

For me, how the suspension performs when parked is a non-issue. Is that 
a lightside thing?
