I'd expect that this one is too far gone for a sensible restoration, given what else is available on the market. If you're wondering about the value on air bags, I'd say the engineering is unlikely to be any better than the stock suspension (other than the kneel-in-the-weeds factor) and likely to be poorly thought-through for a real driver. This feels like a gee-whiz project to me.

For you and others who are looking for a way to 'improve' the engineering of your Type 3, here's a tip: save up lots of money and buy a Porsche of the same vintage. Your Type 3, stock, tuned and well maintained, can perform almost that well. Don't underestimate what you have.
