I'm under the impression that the only way to fix something like this is to electrostrip it and then replate. I believe decorative chrome is always triple- plate (copper/nickel/chrome.) The alternative is "Hard Chrome" which is used on shafts and bearings. It is just chrome over steel. There are lots of varieties of each, and lots of ways to vary the quality. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
