Re: [T3] PA safety inspection
<x-flowed>So Mr. Jonik, would you please tell us how you really feel...and don't
be shy, let it all out, don't bottle it up! :-D Just kidding! I agree
w/you but educating an ignorant public isn't easy and thus why this type
of stuff happens. Most people don't care.
Anyway...Eric, sounds to me like the shop is trying to get $$$ from
you. Can you find a shop familiar with air-cooled vehicles? And do
they really take off your drums to examine your brake shoes? Did they
then remove your front brake pads to check them as well (I would assume
so since pads are easier than drums)? I know each state is difference
(Oregon -- thank GOD! -- doesn't have such silly inspections) and when I
was in the Navy in South Carolina I had to have my [Oregon registered]
baby state inspected before the base would issue me a sticker. She
passed with flying colors but the inspection was truly a safety one
(horn, lights, etc.) with no muffler or brake shoe/pad inspection.
Good luck with it all. I love hearing these stories, just re-enforces
the fact that I never will move to the east coast.
