Re: [T-3] Pilot bearing?

<x-flowed>This brings up an interesting thing that I noticed when I started to investigate my tranny problem. The pilot bearing was very dry and the tip of the input shaft from the tranny had some rust on it. Again the part that is most confusing in my situation is that I was able to shift into all gears without pushing in the clutch. What would be the result of having a pilot bearing fail? Jack

doing so), and what it would do.

Yes, they CAN fail, but one would only notice it when the engine and
transmission are turning at different rates, as in when the clutch pedal is
depressed. Otherwise, there's no relative motion there.
