non-VW, I used my fingernail to remove the
paint. Popsicle sticks are another tool as well.
Sharpen if needed. Shouldn't cut into base paint.

Try a little heat before going to the chemicals.
A hair dryer or a hot air popcorn maker put
out enough heat, but don't overdo it.
