I found that even with good wiring, a couple of lengths of the bike (2 metres), 3 switches (ignition, lights, Hi/Lo), a fuse, and a few spade connectors, and it was down to 10.5V at the bulb from a 12V battery. Hence the relays. When you're pulling real amps even good connectors and thin cost-cutting wiring looms come into the equation. -- Matt. UK.
