Ahhh that explains a lot....that must be a Type 14 then. There was another one that had the same engine pictured. It sure looked like a tight fit, that is why I thought it did not belong there... Karmann built ten times as many 14s as 34s, and the Type 14 is what almost eveyone thinks of when you say 'Karmann Ghia.' 14s have Type 1 engines, 34s are Type 3s through and through. (It may be a testament to the recently more vocal style of Type 34 drivers that this question came up, but I guess we may need to share more pictures.)
