Re: [T3] Electric/Mechanical Brake Switch


Now I KNOW this guy is using DOT 5! ;-)
Ive got a .01 and .1uF cap across my contacts and there OK after a couple
years.
There does seem to be alot of inductance in the brake light circuit but my
switch failed mechanically and not contact wise.  One interesting thing that
Ive always noticed with my Squareback... if holding the brake pedal just
very lightly, so the switch is just making contact... it arc's or something
and cuts out the FM oscillator in my stereo.  No Music on any station!  Been
this way for 17 years and the switch has never failed!  Im still running DOT
3 on this car though.
