All the tank sender units are the same. There are 6V and 12V dash gauges. You need a good tank gauge and a dash gauge that matches your voltage. A '65 would have been 6V originally. Here's a test: Turn the key ON, then go to the trunk and pull the wire off the sender and ground the wire. If the dash gauge indicates FULL, your wiring and dash unit are fine. I have good used senders, but I can often repair broken ones. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
