Thanks alot for everyone's advise. I'm happy to say that my 70' squareback is purring like a kitten. It was definitley a faulty trigger contacts at the base of the distributor. But, even after I replaced the contacts and re-timed the engine, the car was running with very low power. I couldn't understand it because I thought that I timed it correctly. Well the problem was that when I took out the distributor, I unplugged all the wires without paying attention to the order. I then assumed that the order of the pistons around the engine were the same as the firing order(1-4-3-2). Well it turns out that the firing order doesn't relate to the order of pistons(2-4-3-1 clockwise around the engine). So I had the 1 and 2 spark plug wires swapped. So my car was running on only 2 pistons(which is why I had no power). I finally figured that out, with help from a friend, and the car started up perfectly. Thought that might be interesting for someone new to working on a type 3, like myself.
