Re: [T3] Keeping the windows clear?
<x-flowed> >from about '66-on, there are 2 levers on each side of the
parking brake lever. Pull the right one fully up; this turns on the
heat. Push the left one forward, closing the back seat heat exits and
forcing all the hot air forward.
This sounds backward for my '66. The left controller (red plastic
knob) turns on the main heat. The right lever (white knob) opens and
closes the rear footwell vents. Also the knobs move horizontally
forward. So for max defrost, pull back the right lever and push forward
the left lever.
As a daily NW driver I'll second the recommendation to keep the car
dry, your doomed otherwise. Before I fixed the windshield seal leak I
was scraping frost from the exterior and interior windows... The
morning routine is a little bit of a struggle driving an old car. After
first getting in the car I often exhale out an open window to keep
moisture off the window. I end up getting started with a less than
clear screen, the engine needs to be driven to warm up and get RPM's to
blow.
I'd add that you need to double check the hot air pathway from fanshroud
forward for leaks.
