Re: [T3] ignition timing
<x-flowed>DanH=> is the middle timing mark the correct one for my engine setup?
The only good way I know to time an 009 is by using a timing light with
an advance adjustment. Set your max advance for 30 degrees and lock it
down. 009s are too variable to rely on static timing.
=> should i just go for the ACN SVDA dizzy because it will give me a
=> more correct timing curve and the best of both worlds, supposedly, ...
"Supposedly," right. I don't know the unit you're referring to. I
extensively tested several different distributors before settling on the
L, which is stock for a '69 or '70 with FI. I think it cost me about ten
bucks, FYI. Like you I'm running stock carbs with 040 heads, a mild cam
and a late exhaust; my displacement is 1641cc.
