Good point- from the pics it looks pretty fine and should be "lifetime"
like those "gold" coffee filters. :) Who carries the pan gasket these
days? And again, is there a cross-reference for it? DId the Vanagon use
the same tranny or at least the same bolt pattern?

Google ATP. They still make parts, gasket kits, and rebuild kits for
these transmission. They make kits for about every thing, and I think
they are originally a British company so they might be available in
Israel.


I think I have a pretty good chance of finding a strainer here. There is a shop in Tel Aviv that sells nothing but parts for automatic transmissions. That's where I got the gasket set from. They actually have a Type 3 vacuum modulator in their window.


If they don't have it then it might be more of a problem.
