Aren't they already making this? I think it's called the Boxter or

As for the Type 3 retro, the notch looks like a very small version of
the new (and outgoing) T-Bird. I actually like the notch in that pic
very much. I'm getting a little tired of the "over-rounded" shapes that
have been prevalent in small sports coupes recently (Audi TT, etc.). I'd
like something with some straight lines for a change. I've never been a
big fan of the styling of Asian cars, but I just absolutely love the
straight, slightly angular lines on the Acura TL. One can overdo
straight lines though (re: the new Cadillac designs)...
FWIW, I try not to pay too much attention to what VW is doing these
days. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE their design and I LOVE how they drive,
it just hurts too much -- at my age, I'm no longer willing to sacrifice
excellent customer service and build quality I get from other cars for
the fun of driving a new VW. That, unfortunately, would include a new T3
retro-style. :(
