I really don't think so. The OG cables actually had insulation that was quite hard. They could be snapped in there without fear of damaging the insulation. More modern insulation tends to be softer. I think it's actually better electrically, but it's rather easily torn and it's not as slippery. The first time I had trouble with tearing this insulation was when I was trying to replace my wires with some fancy silicone insulated wires when my '68 was only about 3 years old. I learned my lesson then and haven't had any more trouble. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
