Okay, if early cars didn't get the O-ring, then I can imagine that those used 2 paper gaskets, but (I think) the parts list calls out the O-ring for all swing axle type 3s. (It just calls it a gasket, but it looks like an O-ring.) I'm pretty sure my '68 had just one gasket and I know it had that O-ring. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
