Look at the underside of the pan. An AT pan has an exit hole for the AT shift
cable. That hole is just left of center, forward of the front mount point for
the rear subframe. Look for that hole or for evidence that something has been
welded up there.

From the brochures on thesamba.com it looks like automatic a was introduced in
1969, is that right?


If so, then my '67 wouldn't have had automatic.

However, I suppose someone could have replaced the pan.  hmm.
