They're calling it a 42 V system (14V x 3) and I believe everyone's planning 
the jump already. I just wonder whether they'll come with one big battery with 
18 cells, or will they use 3 smaller 12V sizes.

And, yes, I guess there really are some water-cooled alternators out there.

I wonder if the switch from 6V to 12V systems was also driven by increasing 
electrical demands in the 50s (not VW, they only caught on a decade later.)
