I don't think there's any significant difference. There was a side-impact bar added to later ones, and I think the handle pressing is deeper to allow for the extra trigger depth. The arm-rest changed at some point - my 72 is the same as my 71, but maybe later 72s have the new armrests. I don't think there's anything that can't be got round fairly easily. Dave. Can someone summarize the differences between a 72 and a 69 door? I have a 69 fastback but the passenger door is very rusty and I was offered a free 72 door as a replacement. I just wondered if I will have trouble making the switch (in terms of hinges and fitting, etc.) Thanks, Del Ruesch ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
