Re: [T3] Stock muffler repairs made.

<x-flowed>The flanges are standard from my air-cooled FLAPS (BugPack items) :-) 1 5/8" inside diameter.

Not really sure I'll be able to duplicating the next time around. I mounted the muffler then placed the flanges and tack welded. Removed everything and fully welded. If I could've made the initial repair myself I think duplication would've been more assured. I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

The upper exchangers do rotate freely. In fact, one of them was frozen but the heat from the welding loosened it.

Fired her up and she's running fine. No leaks from the exhaust nor the engine cooling air. The only thing keeping me from driving the car is the engine cooling bellow and a new one is on its way :-)

Are these flanges just standard muffler shop items?

5. Bolted it all up and then tack welded the right upper exchanger.
Removed it all and welded the upper exchanger to the muffler

I hope you just welded the muffler to the HE threaded "nut." Otherwise you have a big problem next time the muffler needs to be replaced.
