Showing just how far some companies are from embracing
brand loyalty are examples of marques that actually
pursue and punish owner's clubs, usually for using
their brand names without permission.  This is partly
understandable because of the nature of US copyright
and trademark laws.  However, when asked, such clubs
are frequently denied permission to use names or
trademarks, even for non-profit uses.

This has happened repeatedly in the case of one German
marque that starts with a P, and even in what
otherwise appears to be a marketing savvy company as a
certain manufacturer in Wisconsin that starts with H.
