You're probably right, I had the bracket like that for the 19 years I've had the car and always ran it that way, but it was always behind a vintage plate. When I took it off and put it back on, I just bolted it on the way I remembered it. I'll try flipping it and seeing if it works. BTW, the mounting hardware did rub before until I bent it out a bit. > > Looks like you may also need to reposition your > wiper blades. ;-) Flip them up > before you first run them, to keep them from running > off the glass and also > damaging the britework or the paint. I disassembled the entire wiper motor, thought I'd tagged everything but when it all went back together, this is what happened. The wipers start out like this, go towards the drivers side, reverse and go passenger side all the way down to the window rubber (just like they should) but when the wipers are swithched off, they park themselves here-every time. Russ Wolfe had said to unhook the battery, take them off the posts and replace them where I want them to end up and hook up the battery again. Darned, if it didn't start to rain 10 minutes after I got into the generator problem I'm having, so still no wipers. Looks like the windshield wiper problem will have to wait til this weekend. One further clue-I did replace the wiper switch with a late Type I one, a close inspection of the two units didn't show any glaring differences but now I'm not quite sure about that statment. Time will tell, always does... David Walters 1973 1600 L Notchback S.
