1776 will run hotter... so mixture is critical. I never hear much good about the Webers, I dont think thier curve is matched well to our engines. Id ditch them and use re-jetted solex's. If the crank is more than .010 under its junk. New valves is good ONLY if they are OE quality VW Ones... and new guides are a must.
