Psst. Don't tell the purists, but I used carpet underlay (the house stuff). 
It was free to me at the time, so I thought I'd give it a shot. Seems to 
quiet things down enough, and stays in place well enough too. Not as pretty 
as I would like in the trunk though, as you have to lift the carpet to open 
the engine lid.
