My Notch is similar to this (has a stainless steel plate there with a nut
welded to it) due to the floor being a little weak in that area. It's a minor
inconveince, but I'm not ready to replace that part of the floor just yet. You
might try using a vice grip on the nut side and wedging it so you don't loose
the entire setting, as the brake pedal stop plate only has to move a little bit.
You just need something to lever over the plate. I hope this helps.
