Couldn't hurt, as they might have what you need in stock. I've seen a screw in cap with a fitting in the top that also feeds the breather box. Those were made of aluminum though. It might be a case of someone timing a bug part down to fit in a t-3. That wouldn't be the first time something like that has happened. I hope this helps.
