Re: [T3] Engine noise

<x-flowed windows-1255>>>
There is no noticeable effect on performance when it makes this noise, but
it bothers me because I don't know what it is.

Does anyone have any idea?

Detonation. Try backing your timing off about 2-3 degrees.

OK. I did that. It is now timed at 0 degrees, which is actually by the book for a 69. The timing light shows 29 degrees of maximum advance with the vacuum hose disconnected. Before it was timed at 31 degrees.

I took it for a spin round the block. It seemed OK, maybe with a bit less pep than before. I readjusted the idle before I drove it, but I may need to raise it again.

I hope I'll be able to take it for a proper drive tomorrow, and then we'll see if I still get that noise.
