You probably haven't damaged anything, but you will need to pull the engine and clearance the bell housing for the larger 12V ring gear. The ring gear will have cut into the case, making it obvious where you need to remove metal. >> Yes, we did that to my son's car when he converted it to 12 volt. I think it took him about 2 hours to get the bellhousing clearanced, but then he trial fitted it several times just to make sure everything was good to go. The only real drawback was the grinding dust that was created, in that it tried to go everywhere. That took some time to clean up. :D Bob 65 Notch S w/ Sunroof 71 Square, now a 2 seat Roadster, pics can be seen at; http://volksrods.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2977 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
