Wow! sounds like it got hot enough to ignite the magnesium! That would make me think of an electrical problem around the tranny... Hmmm, If the fuel line was over 10 years old Id be worried about that too... I remember seeing burned out Squares in the junkyards way back when and they all still had the furrels on the injectors indicating that the OE hose was still on them.
