Re: [T3] TC oil seal - was Gland Nut - was Auto Tranny Brakebands

... So, how do you lock the "flywheel" on an
automatic to undo the big central nut? ...<<
I drilled two holes in a piece of angle iron about a
foot apart. One gets bolted to the flex plate. The
other goes on one of the tranny mounting studs. Works
like a charm.
Thanks.
One more little thing. the actual torque converter oil seal - Bentley says
they were originally black but were replaced by a white type.
There are no white seals in my gasket set. There is a black seal that looks
more or less like an engine main oil seal only black and smaller. There are
actually two of these, identical - don't know why. I assume this is the seal
I need? There are also a couple of others, similar but smaller.
Obviously I will be able to compare the seal that is in there now, but I'd
like to know I have the right part before I start.
Other than that I'm all ready to go on Saturday morning.
Thanks,
Daniel
