<x-flowed>You are correct, they are black oxide. That triggered my memory. I used them instead of the stock cheese head screws. I like the Allen head far better than the slot. Stainless steel bolts were before them (and still nicer than the stock slotted screws) but since they aren't magnetic they can be a pain if you drop one in the depths of the engine below the cooling tin :-( My preference of form with function. No signs of rust on them yet (knock on wood) and they've been on over six months and the engine used.

Just a quibble: anodizing only works on aluminum. Your Allen heads are probably black oxide coated steel. They are excellent quality bolts, but they will rust once the oil coating wicks off them.
