The old style VRs had a special ground screw on the mounting leg, but they all came with the ground wire just installed under one of the mounting screws instead. That saved a couple of steps on the assembly line but I always use the separate ground screw whenever I replace a VR. I guess this all means that I need to keep thinking about my solid state VR version, which would be built into an old style Bosch can. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
