I don't know. Ours are under the left side of the back seat, kind of up on a low ledge there which puts it rather close to a wall. I can imagine that the distance to the wall might vary. I don't know if those holes were pre-punched in the body panels, or if they might have been drilled on the assembly line. There's usually a small piece of vinyl pasted against that side wall, but I can't see that it served any useful purpose. Does this sound like yours is the same? Could you check yours sometime?
