It makes me wonder if it might actually be some other kind of problem, because I wouldn't expect you to still hear a rod knock all the way up to 25 mph. Or, if you could, you might expect to hear it just a couple of times before the engine self destructed. Could it be a loose head? Has this car led a hard life?
