I'd recommend replacing every hose-especially in a new-to-you car. That way you can determine where the leak may be coming from...and fuel line is relatively inexpensive, and it is a good way to get to know your car...is your car FI or carb? Just think if one of the lines was a little rotted-there is probably more rot you haven't seen yet. -kevin -----Original Message----- From: Andy Evans [mailto:evansfamilynz@xtra.co.nz] Subject: [T3] Petrol smell Hi, I have recently picked up a 1971 1600 TL Fastback. The first time I used it I allowed it to run dry accidentally (not used to the fuel gauge). On refilling it developed a nasty petrol leak in the last hose before the engine bay. I clamped it off and eventually fixed it a week or so later. Ever since then there is a very strong smell of petrol as you drive along. I am stumped and am not sure whether I now need to replace every hose. Any ideas would be much appreciated.
