Hi Jospehine, I'm not sure about freeing the radio-but it should not be soldered in. The wire are soldered to the radio-but on the other end(ie at the speaker, and the fuse box maybe) there are push on connectors. Trace that blue wire down, and you should find a push on connector-be careful when you disconnect it to label where you have disconnected it-I've often thought "Oh, I'll remember where it should connect"...but then later have to dig out a wiring diagram to remember correctly. -Kevin -----Original Message----- From: jmailliardfleming@verizon.net [mailto:jmailliardfleming@verizon.net] Subject: Re: [T3] 71 automatic squareback Thanks Kevin. I will check out cip1.com for the seat belt thing. About this radio. How do you get it free of the car!! I have it removed from the dash ( no easy feat) but can't get the radio free of the faceplate nor free of its wires. The speaker wire is soldered to the radio and speaker as far as I can see and then the blue wire just disappears in to the jumble of wires in the dash near the clock, the other end soldered to the radio. The poor thing is just hanging now. I would love to get it free. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
