The worn dist in my Squareback had a baseplate that was shot, it made for a lousy tach signal that kept kicking the cruise off. The worn bushings in my worn Opel dist make for a nice intermittant missing under low RPM load. Keith > I've had Type III and Type I distributors fail from worn > bushings in the central shaft.
