Grounding the brown wire with a white stripe completes that part of the circuit, switching the relay. If it doesn't click or switch, then the relay needs to be replaced.The reason for grounding the wire, is to test the relay. Have you also checked the fuses? I'm only asking because my 69 Square had that problem too, and it turned out to be a combination of the wire and the fuses. I hope this helps.
