<x-flowed>Like Bob, I removed my pieces when I removed my engine to clean it and reroute the wiring (to a single, common location). Looks cleaner and absolutely no noticeable differences in heating or cooling or noise. Dropped a few ounces of weight and about 32 years worth of collected dirt :-)

My 65 Notch is like this right now. I removed those pieces when I cleaned and painted the surrounding tin. I think it looks better without it, and I didn't notice any change in the harmonics either. I guess it really depends on whether you want to install the old pieces, or leave that nice shiney paint (that cleans up very easy).
