You might try jumping the 2 starter wire connections at the starter. If the
engine turns over, then you might have a dead spot in the solenoid. But if it
doesn't turn over, then you know the starter needs replacing.
I've got a couple of t-3's here that have temperamental starters, and I've
added an extra wire (runs parallel to the one from the switch) just so I don't
have to crawl under the car to jump the starter. I hope this helps.
