I once read that you could install a passenger side mirror on a "bug" that did'nt come with one by drilling a hole in the same location on the passenger side door and that there was already a threaded nut under the door skin from the factory. I was just wondering if anyone knows if this would also hold true for the type 3's as well, as i would like to use the mirror if possible. >> I don't think there is a nut tack welded to the inside of a t-3 door. You'll need to come up with something in order to use it. You might get lucky and find one for a bug on the Samba, as some mirror kits come with one, wether or not you need it. Or you could fond someone scraping a damaged door, and get them to cut the weld nut for you. I've been thinking about adding a mirror on the right door of my Notch, but it doesn't have the nut either. I've got a door I'm going to use as a donor for mine though. I hope this helps.
