Re: NEW 69 FASTBACK OWNER

<x-flowed>You have 3 options when it comes to the battery pan:

Adapting a Ghia pan somehow.
Getting a piece from a donor.
Ordering from type3detectives.com in the UK.

As for pop out seals, they're in short supply. Expect to cough up an arm and a leg for them when they do come up on Samba classifieds or EBay.

Good luck!

Hello,
I hope I addressed the the subject line ok. Anyway, I've been awaiting the delivery of a recently aquired 69 Fastback from N.Carolina, (I live in N.Y.) Overall the body and pan are in good solid condition, except the battery tray area under the rear seat. There is a perfect rectangle rotted clear through the floor in the shape of a battery. Does anyone know of a source for a repair panel for this specific to the type 3, or can a readily available type 1 panel be modified to fit? Second question would be whether there are any sources for the rear pop out window seals. I would guess that these are near impossible to find but i know if anyone knew where to get a hold of a pair of these, it would be someone from this list. Thanks to all who responded to my last post. ~Franz Moore
