I doubted it too.  But the guy swears it's true and he is the second owner.
Says a cyl head was replaced by the original owner.  Probly did a valve
job/top end OH at that point.  I could see a VW bottom end lasting that
long, esp with fuel injection which would keep oil on the pistons/cyl and
not wash it away with wasted fuel.
