RE: [T3] distribture drive
<x-flowed>Heres something that noone said but should be archived. If the car is new to
you or motor has
been changed, or had a motor built for you (me), and your car has a 009 on
it, the drive gear is probably incorrect, its probably set up for a beetle.
Luckily i havent tried to install my new 66 vacuum dist. (and a 71 one if
that doest work out), but from research and talking to people and
double checking, my motor is set up for a t1 (it was, i ordered it for t3
universal but you know how it is), and the vacuum dizzy wont fit properly
with the retarded #3 in the right place. I know some of you are able to pull
out the drive gear and put it back in properly, but its not something I wish
to undertake (and possibly have to split my engine to fix a screwup). Im
pondering having the local vw shop install the dizzy for me and move the
drive gear. Im just saying, if you car has a 009 and you want to jump on the
vacuum bandwagon, realize this might be an issue.
