[T3] Early brake finds
<x-flowed>While revamping my rear brakes I found a new, unnoticed part change over.
Previously I had always thought that the 61-63 pinwheel drum was all the
same through production. Well I found that they were not. From cassy
#1-76299 VW used a drum with an aditional internal oil catch! Weird to see
on a T3. I also have a chassy#76300-221974 nos rear drum to compare with.
The early has a shorter nose and the hole in the outside for a drain. The
later has a longer nose and no hole. The wheel hub bearing assembly is
different in the chassy# as well. I thought it was a cool find and to be in
imaculate shape to boot! I posted pics here on Russes site. Notice the
Torque Dude tool. This thing works GREAT and worth every penny!
I have a couple more great finds to share so stay tuned!
