Okay guys, I've got the SB fired up and am in the process of getting it registered. Man, what a headache the base is, trying to compare it to newer vehicles with regulations. I've got most of their knucklehead stuff answered but a couple things I haven't worked out. Where can I get back up lights? I can see where a couple holes in the rear bumper probably mounted them at one time. Am I safe just mounting old clear fog lights instead if they are unavailable? Once I get thru the base Nazis I won't have any trouble with the Japanese portion. The other issue I'm having now that I'm driving it in Japan is that it doesn't have enough power to get up some of these hills. It just bogs down and never gets any revs up until I get it going on the flat. You wouldn't believe the lines I'm creating. So much for international relations! I'm guessing it's the carbs but when I went into my Bentleys they don't show anything about carburetors. I've got two single-barrel Webers on my '68 SB. Not sure if they're stock or something the previous owner put on there since this is my first SB. Any ideas as to adjustments, or could it be something else? I also just tried to order almost $1000 worth of body rubber and seals, etc, from WCM, for when I have the body straightened and painted after this next couple months underway, but to no avail. It seems they only ship UPS and don't have an e-mail address to write to them and ask whether or not they'll ship normal mail. Any other places I can get the same stuff for decent prices that will ship to an FPO address (The cost is the same as shipping to California)? OBTW, I'm still looking for a left rear fender to save costs on some metal bending at the shop. Tks for your help again, guys.
