[T3] Re: windshield washer hose

The OE windscreen washer system was one of the biggest surprises for me. At
first I put in an electric pump, but then I found an original Type 34 washer
bottle and reinstalled the original system.. I used black plastic or rubber
hose found in the gardening dept. of our local hardware superstore. It is
exactly the right size and you can get connectors and T's etc. to fit if you
need them. I heated the hose in a cup of hot water before fitting it to
soften it up, so it would fit over the barb easier.

At first the switch leaked, so I replaced it, but later found out that I
might have connected the hoses backwards. Luckily I kept the old switch.

Anyway, I filled the bottle and pressurized it several months ago. As far as
I know it is still pressurized now. It's a very simple system that really
works, even though it sounds like the ultimate kludge.
